Jimmy and Eileen went by plane. Chris, Jan, May and I travelled by train. We stayed in Josefina’s flat in Llança in the Coast Brava. They arrived first and greeted us with a text message that read - ‘ The toon is deed!’
Mind you we were there for Christmas and New Year and in any case it proved not to be that dead.
We walked to Port de la Selva, a neighbouring fishing village, and in the other direction towards Port Pou. We also climbed the hill from Llança to the Monastery of San Pere de Roda and the Castle of San Salvador. The views over the ‘ l’empurda’ and the Bay of Rosas were magnificent.
We took the train to Girona and Fiqueres, both of which we found very attractive. We also hired a car to take us to Cadaques and Port Lligat. Nice!
